Assistive Listening devices are a whole array of products that help hearing impaired people cope better with their hearing loss.  At Texas Better Hearing Center we offer a wide assortment of assistive listening devices.

These include alerting devices.  The most widely used are amplified and/or vibrating alarm clocks.  There are also vibrating watches, amplified and flashing baby monitors, and amplified and flashing indicators for the doorbell and the phone. 

Amplified telephones are an important aid for many people.  They come in many types, sizes and strengths.  For the severely and profoundly hearing impaired, there are also voice carryover phones and TTD telephones.

Texas Better Hearing Center is a vendor for the State of Texas Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program.  The program provides amplified phones to Texas residents with moderate to profound hearing loss.  An application is required.  Ask us about applying for the program if you qualify and are in need of an amplified telephone.

Personal FM systems are assistive devices that have improved dramatically in recent years.  They are based on FM radio technology and interface directly with a hearing impaired person’s personal hearing aid.  They are invaluable for hearing impaired children in classrooms.  The new generation of FM systems is designed to help adults with significant hearing impairments succeed in difficult listening environments.
